Three years after the monstruous and blackened VILAGVEGE, RORCAL is back with a brand new full length entitled CREON. Again, this new beast is showing a different face of the band by the mean of 4 hellish tracks for more than 50 minutes of music. Furious, but also melodic, these new songs display a wild range of atmosphere, each one serving the purpose of an epic story. Yes, it’s the death of 4 well known Greek characters, all linked to Creon, that are narrated in this new concept album. Punishing blast beats, heavy riffs, progressive structures expressed through brilliant song writing, possessed vocals; everything is here reunited to create a new level of insanity in the field of extreme music. This 4th full length, recorded in three days in live conditions by Steph Kroug and mixed in Sweden by Daniel Bergstrand, is a journey nobody could have dreamed of. Let the magic do its job, let yourself drown in this beautiful and savage piece of aggression.

In the Unholy year of 2005, RORCAL is born out of a baleful fog. The common aim shared by the 5 Swiss fellows has always been clear: reaching the deepest depths of darkness, searching a way to express the unnamable. This path has taken multiple shapes, from slowest forms of sonic punishment to cathartic expression of sound’s malevolence. The result is now well known, 3 albums exploring all the shades of extreme music, numerous splits and collaborations showing the wide range of possibilities lying within the band, various Eps, all displaying a different face of this ever evolving entity. Now the time has come for the next level of madness, a madness drowned in the blood inherited from Greek mythology. This 4th album, named CREON, is to be released in spring 2016. Again, the band unleashed a new chapter of its unique path.
I stumbled across this on "Transylvanian Recordings." They throw down, I may end up getting some more of their releases....this is the one I like best so far! Rich Kinman
